WHAT EVEN IS SAMMA CHARLES?
Samma Charles has been described in many ways over the years, Neon Jesus, probably a cult leader, knob head, genius, arrogant, a bit of a dick, boss man.
We say he’s a Neo-Noir Portrait Artist. But that still explains nothing.
Drawing inspiration from movies like Drive, Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, and Mute (criminally underrated movie. And Samma will gladly tell you why) and shows like Cyberpunk: Edge Runners and Altered Carbon. Neo-noir portrait tattoos take the dark, futuristic, and mysterious atmosphere of the genre, capturing the essence of that . With intricate designs, dramatic lighting, and meticulous attention to detail, these tattoos emulate the style and themes found in neo-noir cinema, transporting you into a world of intrigue, sex, violence, cyberpunk aesthetics, and enigmatic characters.

Opening his first studio at the tender age of 21, he ran private studios for a decade before abandoning the grey of Oxford, England, and arriving in the US.
Although he has to legally return to the UK periodically because his work visa does have some restrictions.
The ethos from the beginning has always been to make you, the client, feel as comfortable as possible, while making you as uncomfortable as necessary. Cos you know, tattoos hurt…
